With the hustle and bustle of the holidays over the next few months, the entire real estate market in general begins to slow down for the year. While we are still selling properties and bringing new, luxurious listings to the market, the overall sales numbers tend to decrease from November through January. Recently we were asked by the Daytona Beach News Journal to assess the Daytona Beach area single-family home market for the month of October and when we began to research the sales numbers, we found some exciting evidence of continued growth and recovery of the Daytona Beach real estate market.

The Port Orange single-family home market is on the rise with both the number of home sales and sold prices increasing greatly over the previous three years. The first three-quarters of 2014 has seen 641 Port Orange single-family home sales compared to just 528 sales over the same time frame in 2012. However,the number of homes sold is not always an indicator of an improving market if the sale prices, or home values, are decreasing. This is not the case for Port Orange as both the number of homes sold between $150,000-$300,000 and homes sold for greater than $300,000 have both increased respectively over the past two years.
