The 2012 Summer Olympics in London are now in full swing and with two events under his belt, Ryan Lochte, the Port Orange hometown hero, has found success both times, earning two medals. Lochte opened this year’s Olympic swimming competition winning the 400-meter Individual Medley taking the first gold medal for America this Olympics. He did so by beating the Brazilian silver medalist by a whopping 3.68 seconds and also beating out fellow American and the Olympic’s all-time-greatest winner, Michael Phelps. On Sunday, Lochte anchored the US men’s 4x100-meter Freestyle relay coming up just short in the end but still bringing a silver medal to his team and the USA.
Lochte, a graduate of Spruce Creek High School, spent much of his adolescence in the…

This could lead to immense structural damage and even worse scenarios if you and your family are inside the home.
When it comes to hurricane…

With the current economic crunch and the promise of continued price-hikes for Volusia County utilities over the next several years, saving water should seem as important now as it ever has. Volusia County Utilities alone operates and maintains 9 water treatment plants, 27 production wells, and 233 miles of water pipelines. As the Central Florida area continues to grow, so too will the requirements and expenses for our utilities. There are, however, some easy ways to save water and money. Joe’s Crab Shack is a nationwide seafood restaurant that prepares dishes to please almost any palate. Offering heaping steampots of fresh seafood and some of the best crab legs around, it is no surprise that this new Daytona destination has remained busy since opening. Even if you aren’t in the…
