The 2012 Summer Olympics in London are now in full swing and with two events under his belt, Ryan Lochte, the Port Orange hometown hero, has found success both times, earning two medals. Lochte opened this year’s Olympic swimming competition winning the 400-meter Individual Medley taking the first gold medal for America this Olympics. He did so by beating the Brazilian silver medalist by a whopping 3.68 seconds and also beating out fellow American and the Olympic’s all-time-greatest winner, Michael Phelps. On Sunday, Lochte anchored the US men’s 4x100-meter Freestyle relay coming up just short in the end but still bringing a silver medal to his team and the USA.
