Andy Romano Beachfront Park In Ormond Beach Is Now Open

Update: The Volusia County Council has voted to ban beach driving on the 600 feet of oceanfront in front of Andy Romano Beachfront Park. This marks the sixth no-drive section of Volusia County beaches and will make the area safer for children and families enjoying this new public park.

A new oceanfront park recently opened in Ormond Beach, bolstering the beauty and comfort that make this city an excellent place to call home. Andy Romano Beachfront Park opened along A1A across from Bonefish Grill last Saturday and is named after a long-time Ormond Beach native who was a local high school athlete, lifeguard, teacher, and finally principal in the Ormond area. The 4.5 acre park improves beach access in the area and boasts a children's playground, restrooms, a splash park, picnic areas and a concession stand. But the best part is that Andy Romano Beachfront Park has more than 100 parking spaces, making it a very convenient option for families. There is also a proposal in the works to make the area of beach in front of this park a “no-drive” section. With the addition of this beautiful public facility, Ormond Beach continues to build a stronger, family-friendly community.
