Christmas Activities In Daytona Beach 2013

It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Daytona Beach, and there are many exciting family-friendly events in our area to help you get in the holiday spirit. Below we will outline some popular holiday attractions and events, as well as list some of the best Christmas light displays around Port Orange and Daytona Beach. 

A December to Remember Daytona Beach

This is the premier holiday festival of events at the Daytona Beach Oceanfront Bandshell, which began shortly after Thanksgiving and is ongoing through January 4th. The City of Daytona Beach has transformed the bandshell, the Ocean Center, the Ocean Walk Shoppes and the Daytona Beach Boardwalk into a winter wonderland of fun, family activities.

Racing returns to the beach on an interactive sand sculpture replica of the historic Daytona Road and Beach Course. At "Big Bill's Beach Course,” patrons will be racing radio control cars and trucks on a 1/20 mile track. Grand Master sand sculptor Suzanne Altamare will create a beautiful display at the entrance of the Daytona Beach Bandshell. Suzanne Altamare will create a masterpiece of holiday themed pieces of sand art. Some of her exhibits will be life-size. This is a must see for the entire family!

A December to Remember Daytona Beach will also feature a "Kids Snow Zone” featuring loads of REAL SNOW! Please note that snowballs will not be permitted to be thrown at this family-friendly event. Bring your family and friends to frolic in the snow and share stories of holidays past. There will be plenty of cocoa to warm you up. Other activities for the kids include a petting zoo and choo-choo train rides on the Boardwalk Express down to Joyland Train Station. The best part is that this event is FREE. Drive Through Bethlehem

When: December 20-22, 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Where: Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church, 3140 S Atlantic Ave.
What: Live animals and actors help bring the city of Bethlehem to life as you and your family enjoy a peaceful drive through this holiday setting. This event is free, but the church will happily accept donations.

Santa Cruisin’ Classic Car Show

When: December 21, 3:00pm - 7:00pm
Where: East Indiana Avenue, Downtown Deland
What: Come check out the Orlando Sentinel's “Other Best Downtown” as they put on another fun event. This Christmas themed classic car show will have a live DJ and there will be an opportunity for pictures with Santa!
