Where: 352 S Nova Road, Daytona BeachWhat: The Museum of Arts & Sciences (MOAS) will be opening the brand new Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art to the public on Sunday, February 8, 2015. The public opening of the new Museum will be marked with a celebratory ribbon cutting that will take place at 1:00pm. Those in attendance will be among the first to see the stunning interior of the Museum as well as the exquisite collection of Florida paintings it houses. The Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art will feature Florida themed oil and watercolor paintings dating back to the early 1800's. The entire Brown collection consists of more than 2,600 paintings of Florida and is the most extensive collection of Florida art in the world. The size and scope of the collection means that it is perfect way to illustrate the many stories that can be told about the geography and natural history of Florida. While artists or styles can be highlighted and discussed, visitors can also learn about Florida's weather or native wildlife through creative theming and interpretation. Admission to the Ribbon Cutting is free while entrance into the new museum is $10.95 for adults, $8.95 for seniors and students, $4.95 for children 6-17 and free for children 5 and under.
