Daytona Beach Downtown Fun Part 2

Halifax Historical Museum - From ancient artifacts that date to 5000 B.C.E, to British and Spanish colonial relics, to exhibits on the early days of beach auto-racing, the Halifax Historical Museum is an extensive and exciting look into our Daytona Beach area history. Open Tuesday through Sunday, this local treasure defines Daytona Beach history down to the very building it is held in. Housed in the former 1910 Merchants Bank building, the two-story interior walls are graced with hand-painted murals depicting area scenes and give you the feel of what our Daytona Beach area looked like over a hundred years ago. Currently on display through November 3rd is an exhibit on famous athletes of Central Florida area. Pricing for the museum is very reasonable at only $5 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. On Thursdays, admission is by donation so you could get in even cheaper, or make a nice donation to continue the great service that this museum brings to our town. Dancing Avocado Kitchen - In business on Beach Street since 1997, Dancing Avocado Kitchen has continually been bringing the best of fresh-produce and vegetarian cuisine to the Daytona Beach area. Bay Street Seafood Market and Grill - If you’re on Beach Street and you’re in the mood for great seafood at reasonable prices, Bay Street Seafood is your place. Dine in or take out and enjoy the freshest local seafood at this family-run business. This casual restaurant offers comfortable outdoor seating and a staff that aims to please. Open Monday through Saturday from 10:30am to 8:00pm, Bay Street Seafood is open for your lunch and dinner needs as well providing whatever fresh fish, mussels, crab legs or other seafood options you need for your own cookout. McK’s Tavern - This full-service Irish tavern has been serving the Daytona Beach area great food and spirits for nearly 20 years. Also make sure you experience their great Irish specials like shepherds pie, bangers and mash and the classic rueben sandwich. The Moon and Club 180 - A new name in night life in the Daytona Beach area, The Moon Bar and Club 180 are bringing the fun back to Beach Street with great specials and varied events that are sure to please a wide arrange of people. Come check out their “Stetson Friday’s” that kick off with great country music, free line-dance lessons and bull-riding and a $10 special that gets you free drinks from 8:00pm til midnight. The Moon will also house several concerts over the next few months and has space available to rent for business parties and the like.
