Deland Named Best Downtown

Deland, the small town just 20 miles from Daytona Beach, was recently named “Central Florida’s Other Best Downtown” by the Orlando Sentinel. This bracket competition was voted on by readers and Deland took the underdog victory by a margin of more than 8,000 votes over downtown Mount Dora. Deland offers many unique boutiques and shops, as well as an array of specialty and fresh dining options. But one of the main reasons Deland earned this title is the ambiance of this older town which has seen a revitalization of aesthetics and community activity in the past few years. There are always exciting art festivals, cook-offs, beer and wine tastings, and other events that draw many visitors from around Central Florida. This win for Deland shows the great pride area residents take in this community and exemplifies why central Florida is such a great place to call home.
