What: Come celebrate Florida's surviving historic lighthouses this Friday and enjoy family-oriented workshops, live demonstrations, and kid's crafts. You may know that Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse is the tallest in Florida, but you can also expand your knowledge about Florida lighthouses by taking the Florida Lighthouse Challenge. Climb the 203 steps to the top of the lighthouse for spectacular views of the World's Most Famous Beach, Ponce Inlet, and the Halifax & Indian rivers. Learn about crystal radios at the top of the tower and uncover the fascinating history of Fresnel lenses as you talk with the "Old Lighthouse Keeper". All scheduled activities are included with the cost of regular admission, and no advanced registration is required. This promises to be a fun-filled day for children and adults alike!
