Florida Lighthouse Day At Ponce Inlet Lighthouse
When: Saturday, April 20th, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Where: Ponce Inlet Lighthouse 4931. S. Peninsula Drive, Ponce Inlet
What: Come celebrate our Florida heritage as the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse commemorates the 29 lighthouses that remain standing in Florida. Take this opportunity to learn more about these towers that have kept vigil for so many years, and have kept countless mariners safe since the first lighthouse was lit in Florida in 1824.There will be great family-oriented activities, and several workshops designed for kids. Visit the "Old Lighthouse Keeper" as he describes his duties at the lighthouse. Special workshops have been developed in celebration of the statewide celebration, Viva Florida 500, and Positively Ponce, commemorating the Town of Ponce Inlet's 50th year of incorporation. Activities are included in the cost of regular admission, and no advance reservations required. For more information visit Ponce Inlet Lighthouse or call (386)761-1821 ext. 18.
