Hard Rock Daytona Gets Approval

daytona hard rock gets key approval from cityOn Wednesday night Daytona Beach city commissioners enthusiastically approved several items that will help make the Daytona Beach Hard Rock Hotel and Cafe a reality as early as 2016. The Hard Rock project is slated to break ground next summer on an 11-acre site just south of SunSplash Park. This vote granted up to $4 million in assistance from the city to the developers Bayshore Capital Inc, with estimates of the first phase of this project projected at a cost of $125 million. The other votes addressed rezoning issues for the project as well as opening up the possibility for drive-thru restaurants such as Starbucks to be built on the land across the street from the Hard Rock site.

The proposed Hard Rock will feature its signature hotel, a condo tower, cafe and parking garage that will include about 250 hotel rooms, 120 condos, 250 restaurant seats, 443 parking spaces, pools, a fitness facility, spa and bars in the first phase. An unscheduled second phase could add more hotel rooms and condos, while the full complex could one day span nearly 1.5 million square feet.
