It's Summer Time In Daytona Beach
Today marks the first day of summer, the summer solstice, and is the longest day of the year. I know what you’re thinking: “It’s Friday! Why can’t it be the shortest day of the year?” But alas, time isn’t slowing down (even if it feels like it right now at work), but rather we expect to experience about 14.5 hours of sunlight today. And as summer moves into full swing in Daytona Beach, we decided to talk about a few summer activities and some tips to ensure a safe and fun summer season.
Enjoy the Beach - Maybe you hadn’t heard but we have a pretty nice, fairly large swimming pool lining the eastern coast of the Daytona area. A few things to keep in mind when enjoying beach time with friends and family include: Wear sunscreen - Even on overcast days, the sun will catch up with you and will leave you looking like a lobster Watch for cars - One of the most popular reasons people enjoy our area beaches is for the ability to drive and park along the white, compact sands. Always keep a watchful eye on children and familiarize yourself with the driving restrictions when you cruise our coast. Hydrate - This goes for any summer activity you may be doing. By the time you feel thirsty, you may already be dehydrated. Avoid the sodas and alcoholic beverages which will dehydrate you quickly.
Local Parks There are many great parks in the Daytona Beach, Ormond, and Port Orange area that provide, shaded picnic areas, playgrounds and much more.
Summer Concert Series - Free live music and fireworks every Saturday night at the Bandshell, what more could you ask for?
Daytona Cubs - The Cubbies are rolling on through this season and would love to see you out there for some peanuts and crackerjack.
Whatever you choose to do this summer, enjoy your time with friends and family and stay safe. Call us if you have any questions about the Daytona Beach area, or let us find the perfect pool home or oceanfront condo that can enjoy all summer long, and beyond.
