Patriotic Ceremony and Deland Suns Game
When: This Sunday, June 24th. Ceremony starts at 4:00 pm, game starts at 5:00 pm
Where: Conrad Park - 555 South Woodland Boulevard, DeLand
What: This year, Rand McNally and USA Today have selected Deland as a finalist for the “Most Patriotic Town in America”. Deland, only a short drive southwest on US-92 from Daytona, will be visited this weekend by a team from Rand McNally to collect information on their “Best of the Road Rally”. In honor of the selection and in true form of American patriotism, Deland will hold a patriotic ceremony right before the opening pitch of a Deland Suns baseball game this Sunday at Conrad Park. Free admission will be given for veterans, active service members, and anyone dressed in red, white, and blue. Discounted food and beverages will be available. Come out enjoy a hot dog, a cold beer (if of age) and America’s pastime while showing Rand McNally and the rest of America just how patriotic Deland and Central Florida are. Summer Concert Series
When This Saturday, June 23rd. Concert begins at 7:00 pm, firework show at 9:45 pm
Where: Daytona Beach Bandshell - 250 N. Atlantic Ave
What: The Summer concert series rolls on for another week with a great R&B/Blues band -Mighty Groove Machine. Come on out to the bandshell and get your groove on.
The Dog Days of Summer
When: June 23rd-Aug 19th, Monday - Friday 10 am. - 4 pm, Saturday & Sunday, Noon - 4 pm
Where: Ormond Memorial Art Museum, 78 East Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach
What: If you want to beat the heat this weekend, stop in to this opening art exhibit featuring works from more than a dozen local artists all dedicated to “man’s best friend”. Cat-lovers welcome too. For more information, visit the Ormond Beach Art Museum.
