The much anticipated LA Fitness is set to break ground today in Port Orange. This massive gym will be located at 1810 Dunlawton Avenue, just in front of the new BJ’s Wholesale Store. This facility will house a wide array of the latest exercise equipment, and will also offer personal training and group exercise classes. We think this is a great addition to Port Orange. What do you think?
11-01-2011 Update:
Port Orange may be getting a brand new fitness facility in the Altimara Village that is currently under construction. It's only dirt right now, but LA Fitness may be under construction in 2012. The location may be right next to the BJs Wholesale Club in Port Orange. The site plan shows an estimated 45,000 sq. ft. for this fitness facility.

We were members of Hollywood, Fl since it opened. We had to cancel our membership when we moved to the Orange City area. We became members in Orange City since it opened. We are now moving to Port Orange Fl and the area is ripe and ready for a facility like LA Fitness. My husband is a personal trainer and feels the demographics are perfect. The word in the gyms is that LA is not coming now. Looks like this site is being held up because I live up the road and not a lot is going on over their.Any update on this?
Pads are being prepared for construction. I don't believe that rumor is true.
Supposedly got delayed four months due to a turtle nest in the waterway they had to re route. Rediculouse!!!
Please expedite this! We need a real gym in this area
The construction looks like it is underway. Can't wait. I belong to the LA Fitness in Orlando and they are great clubs. We need one here and soon.
