Large Condo Construction One Step Closer In Daytona Beach
On Wednesday, March 6th, Daytona Beach city commissioners unanimously gave initial approval to a vital rezoning, from tourist accommodation to planned commercial development, for the project site of these luxury condominiums. The proposed condo complex will be located on a 4.5 acre site along State Road A1A at the eastern tip of Oakridge Boulevard and will include a 29Âstory condo building with 105 rooms and a 26Âstory hotel with 500 rooms. The project's plans also show an array of shops fronting A1A at street level, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, fitness rooms, a ballroom, a roof garden, meeting rooms, penthouses and a stateÂofÂtheÂart automated parking structure with machinery that would actually move cars into spaces. The two buildings could create 15,100 square feet of meeting space, 14,000 square feet of retail space and 400 permanent jobs.Commissioners are scheduled to take the final vote March 20th. Once approved, construction could begin in August and wrap up by the fall of 2015.
