Master Gardner Course - University Of Florida
Green thumbs and brown thumbs welcome! Do you have the most beautiful lawn or garden in the neighborhood? Perhaps you only need a little help to turn your yard into a masterpiece. More than a little bit of help is now available. A Master Gardner course is being offered for beginners and yard experts in Volusia County.Â
The Master Gardener program is offered through the University of Florida Extension services. To complete the certified Master Gardner course you complete an 80-hour course on local gardening practices. This program is very involved and no easy ticket! The program also requires that you put in volunteer gardening time and assist each year that you are certified, as well as earn continuing education credits.
In the program you will study soils, fertilizer, vegetables, citrus, pest control, seasons, and more. The Master Gardner course is a 10-week long program that is perfect for a local retiree that is ready to perfect his or her gardening skills and knowledge. There are coordinators for the program in West Volusia, Daytona Beach, and New Smyrna Beach. All of the course information in this program comes from the University of Florida.
