Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 11th, and as usual we are here to help with last minute ideas to celebrate mom. This year actually marks the 100th anniversary of Mother’s Day being a recognized holiday in the United States, and while some gripe over the commercialization of such a day, it is still a great time to remember and pay tribute to the women who brought us into this world (and can take us out!). Below we will highlight some of the local venues that will provide Mother’s Day meals as well as give a few other ideas that will brighten any Mom’s day.

The Shores Resort & Spa

A beautiful beachside brunch is in store at the Shores Resort which is sure to please the World’s Best Moms. This brunch will take place rooftop where you can enjoy breathtaking views and an array of food including delicious breakfast foods, a smoothie bar, crepes, fresh seafood, carving board meats and a large selection of desserts. This brunch will be held from 11am to 3pm and is priced at $45 for adults, $36.95 for seniors, and $18.95 for children 12 and under. Space is quite limited so call (866)934-7467 to make reservations.

Hilton Daytona Beach

The Hilton will host a sprawling buffet this Sunday featuring roasted leg of lamb, NY strip steak, ham, salad bar, a large dessert selection and much more. The brunch buffet will be located in the Grand Ballroom with seating times hourly from 11am to 4pm. The price for the adult buffet is $38.95, $34.95 for seniors, and just $13.95 for children. Reservations can be made by call (386) 254-8200 ext. 8054 and there will be complimentary valet parking for this lovely Mother’s Day brunch on the beach.

We should also mention that while flowers are great, and every mom loves Angell and Phelps chocolate, there are many other unique and meaningful gift ideas that will brighten any moms’ day. Extra yard work, crafts with the kids or even making something yourself can all be inexpensive ways to show Mom how much you really care. Whatever you decide to do, have a safe and great time celebrating Mother’s Day this Sunday.
