No U-Turn In Front Of Target Port Orange
With many exciting commercial developments coming to Port Orange recently, including BJ’s Wholesale Club and LA Fitness, it was a near certainty that traffic along Port Orange’s busiest roads would increase. As many know, and have experienced, the strip of Dunlawton Avenue between Taylor Branch Road and Yorktowne Boulevard has seen an increased congestion due to the new traffic patterns for those trying to get to either the Target (Gateway Center) shopping area, BJ’s Wholesale, or onto the I-95 interchange. In light of these issues, the Florida Department of Transportation has just notified the City of Port Orange that they will prohibit the U-turn movement from Dunlawton Avenue at the Chick-fil-a entrance to the Gateway Center. Only left turns will be permitted when eastbound on Dunlawton at this point. The “No U-turn” signs are expected to be installed this month. Be sure to keep an eye out for this traffic pattern change and stay safe!
