One Daytona coming to Daytona International Speedway
Last month we highlighted the upcoming improvements in the works for Daytona International Speedway, and International Speedway Corps continues to make news with the announcement of the 181-acre, One Daytona. The planned development, located just north of the race track, will bring a new source of shopping, entertainment, working, and living to the main drag in Daytona Beach, a project which could approach one billion dollars when completed. The first phase of One Daytona will include a 1.1 million square foot shopping plaza housing Bass Pro Shops, a movie theater, a grocery market, two hotels, apartments, and more. This alone is expected to create 4,200 new jobs in Daytona Beach by an anticipated opening in early 2016. The eventual project is anticipated to reach 5 million square feet, making One Daytona a huge addition to the landscape of our popular city.
