Port Orange History Lectures 2012
Edmund Burke, an Irish philosopher, once said, “Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.” Whether you have been a long time history buff, or you have a new found interest in the subject, there are some interesting history events taking place in the Ormond Beach and Port Orange area.
Here are a couple of upcoming Volusia County history events that you can put on your calendar:
- Port Orange History Lecture Series – Do you want to learn about the history of Port Orange? Well, you can attend a series of lectures that will teach you all about the history of Port Orange, Florida. The lecture series will be at the Port Orange City’s Adult Center Annex, located at 3738 Halifax Drive at 1:00 p.m. Dates scheduled include April 13, May 11, and June 8, 2012. - Discover Our History Lecture Series – This history event will be held at the Anderson-Price Memorial Building at 42 North Beach Street in Ormond Beach on April 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. The topic of discussion will be "The Spanish and French in Florida: A Personal Perspective.” The debate and discussion will be orchestrated by two people from Florida State College in Jacksonville. They will offer refreshments starting at 9:30 a.m. This is a free event.
