Port Orange Riverwalk Starting Construction

The long anticipated and debated Port Orange Riverwalk project has officially broken ground along the banks of the Halifax River. This week construction began on a canoe and kayak launch, a trailhead facility with restrooms, a boardwalk and renovations on an existing pier. This will be the beginning of a larger project that will see more dining options added as well as condominium buildings. There have been official plans for a riverwalk project dating back to 1998 and finally this fabled addition is coming to Port Orange. The current portion is expected to be completed in December with other portions of the Port Orange Riverwalk beginning construction later this year. This should be an excellent development for Port Orange, offering residents more things to do and increasing the eye-appeal and property values along Ridgewood Avenue.
