Port Orange, Fla. (September 28, 2012)- Raydon Corporation announced today that it has been awarded a contract valued at approximately $46.5M from the U.S. Army National Guard (USARNG) to provide upgrades to the USARNGs existing fleet of Virtual Combat Operations Trainers (VCOT) over a 24 month period. These upgrades will be applied to 68 VCOTs across the United States over a three year period. In addition to retaining all current VCOT capabilities, the latest upgrades will include Unstabilized Gunnery Training at individual, crew, and collective levels for M2, MK 19 and M240B weapons. This escalation of capability will allow the USARNG to capitalize on its existing infrastructure and provide the latest technology to its fleet.
“We are excited to continue to work with the USARNG by providing upgrades to systems we began fielding some 8 years ago. The fact that the VCOT systems have remained so relevant to the warfighter over time is a testament to the vision the USARNG originally executed. Their plan to make the initial investment and add capability as required has meant a huge cost savings over eight years and resulted in training equipment that is as current today as the day it was fielded. I’m proud that Raydon could play a part in this innovative development and fielding process,” said Mike Vollmar, CEO, Raydon Corporation.
Raydon Corporation has been at the leading edge of simulation training technology for nearly 25 years. Long depended on by the U.S. Armed Forces for providing dependable and affordable simulation-training products and solutions. Raydon provides a wide range of trainers that include Unstabilized Gunnery Trainers™, tabletop trainers, appended trainers and Conduct of Fire Trainers.
