When: Sunday, August 10, 2014, 10:00am - 2:00pm
Where: Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, 4931 S Peninsula Drive. Ponce InletWhat: Come out this Sunday to the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse and capture the spirit of 1945, when the United States’ involvement in WWII ended. In 2010, Congress voted unanimously in support of this day, coinciding with August 14, 1945, the day President Truman announced that WWII was over and America assumed the leadership in rebuilding the postwar world. Enjoy the traditional sounds of a bugler at the site of the tallest lighthouse in Florida. This is sure to be a fun and educational experience for the entire family. Admission is $5 for adults and just $1.50 for children ages 2-11.
