Tax Free Shopping - Back To School 2015
Depending on how your summer has been you’re either overjoyed, or possibly even a little saddened, by your children’s impending return to school. It seems the summer has flown by and I know my two boys enjoyed an array of summer camp experiences from basketball to theater and more. But school starts back in Volusia County on Monday, August 24 and it is not too soon to begin preparing. Most notably, remember that Florida’s Tax Free week is August 7 to 14 where you can enjoy tax savings on clothing, footwear, wallets, and bags that costs $100 or less, school supplies that cost $15 or less, and the first $750 of the cost of personal computers and related accessories. This ten day period will give you plenty of time to stock up on school supplies for your kids while saving a few dollars. When you do load up on all the supplies for the first day, here are some helpful tips for backpack wearing:
- Choose Comfort over Cartoons: While you want your child to have a backpack they will enjoy, you also want one that is comfortable and durable
- Pack lightly: Especially on the first day this may be hard, but the backpack should not weigh more than 10 to 20 percent of the child’s body weight
- Keep Organized: Use all pockets and compartments evenly to distribute the weight of items properly
- Wear Using Both Shoulder Straps: All the cool kids are doing it
We hope you children have a great coming school year and that you find a little rest and relaxation after their summer break. Feel free to give me a call at (386) 527-8577 to find a home near one of our local, award-winning public schools.
