Turtle Day In Ponce Inlet 2015

When: April 11, 2015 from 10:00am - 3:00pm
Where: Marine Science Center - 100 Lighthouse Drive, Ponce Inlet
What: Get acquainted with endangered sea turtles and other marine life during the 12th annual Turtle Day at the Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet. Come out this exciting event on Saturday where you can meet glove-trained birds of prey and get your hands wet in the 14,000-gallon stingray touch pool, which features cownose stingrays and hermit crabs. Animal rehabilitation staff will explain how they care for injured birds and sea turtles, while vendors will serve food, beverages and frozen custard. Other activities will include face painting, crafts and live music. The day will culminate at 3 p.m. with the possible release of a rehabilitated sea turtle and several pelicans and gulls at the Beach Street ramp in Ponce Inlet. The releases are dependent on animal health and environmental conditions. Admission to the Marine Science Center will be free on Turtle Day.
