Wawa Port Orange

09-25-2013 Update:

As reported in an earlier blog, Wawa Inc. is looking to open a new convenience store/gas stations here in Port Orange, but they are already indicating interest in a second site.

Wawa recently signed a ground lease on a 1.85-acre site at the southeast corner of Dunlawton Avenue and Yorktowne Boulevard, next to the new Altamira Village Shopping Center. Wawa is also interested in the property at 1031 Dunlawton Blvd, where the Asian Fusion buffet restaurant is located. Wawa opened its first Florida location in July 2012 and has already built 14 stores between the Orlando and Tampa areas.

Wawa, the popular convenience store chain, may be coming to Port Orange in the future. This large mid-Atlantic company is famous for their large fresh food selection, including their ever-popular “Built-to-Order” Hoagies, Teas, and specialty drinks. The early speculation places a new Wawa store on Dunlawton Avenue at Nova Road at the sight of a previous chinese food restaurant.

Wawa, the name derived from a Native American word for the Canada Goose, operates in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and most recently here in Florida. There have been several locations added in Orlando and Tampa, and with over 600 stores nationwide, Wawa would be a welcomed addition to Port Orange. If you’re unfamiliar with this one-of-a-kind convenience store, check out the Wawa Website and check back with us for future updates. What are your favorite products at Wawa?

Having a Wawa in Port Orange would be the greatest thing to ever happen in our city! There are many people from the Northeast here and Wawa has the BEST coffee ever! They have many different blends and you make it the way you want it. Numerous types of cream/milk are available in their original containers for you to use. If you're looking for a more sophisticated caffeinated beverage, then proceed to the touch screen and order a cappuccino or latte, made to order. Wawa always has amazing deals on their coffee too. It's a convenience store like no other. A Wawa in Port Orange would definitely prosper!

I totally agree with you. That is one thing we have missed after moving here to Port Orange more than 12 years ago. Wawa always made the best sandwiches you could get in N. J.. Those Amoroso rolls are great and the sandwich ingredients are always so fresh. Finally, we will be able to welcome WAWA to Port Orange.

At last, civilazation is coming to Port Orange.,,One thing though...it can't be a true WaWa if it dosen't sell Phila pretzels.

I am from Jersey and feel that Wawa is simply a glorified 7-11 and overrated plain and simple. I prefer Kangaroo Xpress to Wawa.
