Daytona Beach Florida Attractions
Daytona Beach offers a wide range of activities, and boasts an ideal location for exploring some of Florida’s most popular attractions. World class beaches, golfing, and dining keep the big kids happy. For the youngsters Walt Disney World and Universal Studios are just a short drive away. There is something for everyone in Daytona.
Golfers can tee up at any of 15 courses in the area, including Legends at LPGA International. Those less sure of their game might try the Daytona Golf Club, A 36-hole municipal course. Here one low fee covers the cart and as much golf as a player can stand.
Those not cut out for golf shorts can enjoy one of the gorgeous beaches, some of the best in Florida. There are quiet, dune filled beaches to the north, perfect spots for soaking in some Florida sunshine, catching up on a book, or grabbing a quick dip. Surfers want to go a little south. Between New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach is some of Florida’s best surfing. There is always the famous flat packed sand beaches of Daytona; which spawned the sensation NASCAR when wealthy vacationers started holding races on the shore. There is no speeding anymore but much of the beach is still driven on today.
Speed seekers might want to try the Daytona International Speedway, home of the Daytona 500. There are more than just NASCAR races held here, coming up this July is the Brumos Porsche 250. In addition to Lemans cars, motorcycles also grace the Speedway. Daytona Supercross takes over the infield for a thrilling off-road motorcycle show. There is no lack of excitement at the speedway, or right across the street at Speed Park Daytona, where one will find go carts and nitro ally dragsters to ride.
After all this excitement a good dinner is in order, and there is no shortage of fine dining. There are elegant waterfront restaurants like the Inlet Harbor, and the lavish Stock Exchange. For a more casual waterfront dining experience try the Deck Down Under, or Caribbean Jack’s. For adventurous eaters Ronin’s offers delicious fresh Sushi however they lack a full Japanese menu. Daytona has more than just great beaches it has great location. Daytona Beach sits less than an hour east of Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, just a short drive on I-4. Head a half an hour down the 95 and check out Cape Canaveral home to the Kennedy Space Center, an amazing testament to the achievements of man. There really is something for everyone in Daytona. Everybody can find something to love about this city; whether it’s stretching out with a book and a drink by the beach, searching for that elusive eagle out on the course, or exercising the pallet.
